I wrote this article at the end of December 2020 while working for Executive Agents, the personal branding agency, while we were still in the middle of a pandemic. You always have to write about trends to predict the future. And since the past isn’t always a reliable predictor of the future, it’s not something you can easily research. Writing this article required creative and dynamic thinking to find trends. Importantly, I didn’t get everything right. I didn’t predict the skills shortage that emerged in 2021, which meant candidates had a lot more choice in the employment market. This is a good reminder that I’m not perfect!
